It’s been a long time coming. The entire first season of the DSA is now on Kindle Unlimited!

Why now?

I’ve been trying to get more eyes on the series since jumping back into the marketing machine full time. Season Two is coming up in September, so the more people I had caught up the better.

When promoting the sale of the series, and the box set, a few months ago, I noticed something. All my sales for DSA came through Amazon. That’s strange for me, considering Kobo tends to run pretty strong for Greystone. Yet, all month long, the only sales for DSA came from Amazon.

That got the ball rolling for me on switching up my marketing plan for the series.

The DSA is a serial.

It really works best read together. I know each book stands on its own. There is always a main plot that is resolved by the end of an installment, but the broader picture is much clearer when binged.

Kindle Unlimited offers that experience. Sure, would I like everyone to simply buy the books outright? Absolutely.

But as long as you’re reading and enjoying the books? Yeah, I can live with that.

It is my hope that once Season Two kicks into gear this September, more eyeballs will flock to the series. Kindle Unlimited is merely the vehicle being used to generate those eyeballs and I am damn excited to see how it goes.

DSA continues with Foundations

The second book of the season brings in some of my favorite elements of sci-fi adventure. There is time travel. There is government conspiracy. And the DSA is at the heart of everything.

I can’t go too deep into the details on the plot without spoiling some of the elements introduced in The Wellspring, but Foundations was a true labor of love and answers one of the biggest mysteries of the series to date.

What I can tell you is: Foundations will be on sale December 6, 2023!

DSA Season Two carries through to 2024

I’m incredibly excited to bring these new books to you this year. The arc told in Season Two is one of my absolute favorites and I can’t wait for you to see where the story is headed. I took every opportunity to push the story further and give you more with each “episode.”

Answers are coming. But greater mysteries await.

Release Schedule

Now you may have noticed the installments won’t be coming at you lightning-quick as they did with Season One. That is by design. While I would love to get you a book every month of the year, I’m a realist (and a tired dad). Count on quarterly releases from now on, and that carries over to Greystone and everything else that will coming up in the future.

Four solid releases per year, with the occasional bonus of a box set or two thrown in for good measure, is what my plan is at the moment. There will be plenty more surprises along the way, but I hope this helps illustrate my rededication to the job and to bringing you the best books I can.

What happens to the price as of June 8th?

The special pre-order price disappears on launch day. The box set will be $4.99 for the rest of June before settling on the regular price of $9.99 going forward. Six books for $9.99? Still a pretty slamming deal, if you ask me, but why wait for the increase when you can get the deal of the year right now?

Is the DSA right for you? Hell, is it right for me?

DSA is pretty much the opposite of every lesson I’ve learned since starting in the business. There is no clear category on Amazon to steer readers toward. It’s sci-fi, but with spaceships and aliens. It’s crime and mystery without the usual procedural elements found there.

The DSA is a mash-up, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It contains all the elements I found intriguing as a reader: an overarching threat hidden in the shadowy background. A puzzle that needs to be solved piece by piece over time, while taking readers on a journey anywhere and everywhere. There is hard science (cloning) and wacky tangents (ghosts), but all center on the same crew of fallible characters that inhabit the world of the DSA.

Season One really sparks the mystery that guides the majority of the series. While there are the one-off here and there, for the most part every single book is vital to the overall tale being told.

I’ve thought about bringing it to a close sooner rather than later. Yet every time I start to write a new chapter I am completely drawn into this world. I think you’re going to love the journey, no matter what kind of reader you are. Whether you are here for the plot or the character, there is plenty to enjoy with the DSA.

What comes next? Hints for the future of The DSA…

The first season is now available. Six books that are really only the beginning of the story of this motley crew of agents trying to save the future.

Since social distancing has been extended, so has the Season One Sale!

Hints at what comes next…

For those who don’t know me that well, Babylon 5 is my favorite television show of all time. J.M. Straczynski crafted a very specific narrative with the show. He developed a five-season arc, the first of its kind. We now see season-long storylines and even some longer form television shows, but he did it first and it was brilliant.

The DSA is designed in a similar manner. The current plan is five seasons with six books each season. After all is said and done, you will have a tapestry that lines up from the very first chapter of The Clearing all the way to the series finale.

A lofty goal, I know. That’s why it took me as long as it did to launch. That’s why there is a gap between seasons.

But what comes next? Season Two clues…

Season Two is the organic progression of the narrative. New questions arise and the clues to the major threat at the heart of the series comes to light.

Three new characters join our cast. Well, two completely new and one that receives a more prominent role with the team.
