October 2019 Promotions

October 15, 2019 By Lou

It’s been a crazy month and it’s only halfway over. The Clearing launched last week. If you haven’t snagged your copy, be sure to snag it while you can for only $0.99!

Last Saturday was Indie Author Day. I want to thank the Buffalo Central Library for hosting the event for myself and over 100 other local authors. It was nice to talk to my table-mates about craft and publishing opportunities.

So what else is coming this month?

October Promotions

SFF Book Bonanza is always the best place to find the latest and greatest in sci-fi and fantasy. Head over there to find out the newest releases ranging from urban fantasy to space opera. Find your next favorite author now!

Patty Jensen is an incredible talent. She is constantly producing incredible tales and now she’s put together a fantastic sci-fi sale this month. There are dozens of books on sale for under a buck to be found here.

If you’re more a fan of fantasy than sci-fi, head over to Jason Hamilton’s sale on Bookfunnel. There are a ton of heavily discounted books to be found here.

Don’t forget to see me this Saturday at the Buffalo Comicon!

Queen City Bookstore is hosting the Buffalo Comicon on Saturday! I will have advance copies of Promethean on sale at the show. Signed by yours truly to really make it special. It runs from 10am to 5pm and I hope to see you there!

Hammer and Anvil

Hammer and Anvil arrives on October 24th.

You can still pre-order your copy of the book for only $0.99!

The paperback is available now!

I think it might be my favorite Soriya Greystone adventure yet. I’m a little biased but each books in the series seems to come a little more natural to me. As if she was always meant to be in the world.

The Gifts of Kali is coming along and I’ve started piecing together how the trilogy ends. After that? Well, there’s still Greystone Books 6 through 10 to work on…

Lots more Soriya and Loren to come in the future. I hope you enjoy the start of this new adventure.

Is that it?

Yeah. I think it is for this month. Next month, there will be a free book promo and a couple local appearances. I’ll be talking about these in the Writing Update later this month!

Happy Reading!

Nickel City Con is coming May 17th!

May 7, 2019 By Lou

I will be at Nickel City Con this year! Will you?

I’m really hoping you’ll be able to make it to see me at the Nickel City Con in a couple weeks. It’s going to be a HUGE 3 day show at the Buffalo Convention Center with hundreds of guests lined up.

I can’t believe the number of comic creators and celebrities they’ve managed to snag for this one.

Don’t believe me? Take a peek at the special guests for the show.

Ross Marquand alone makes it worth it for me. You did see his rendition of the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War right? (INCREDIBLE)

Tickets are on sale now for the show. Pre-Order prices are still in effect and save you $5 for a one-day pass and $15 for the three day pass. Find out more here.

I’m a little excited if you can’t tell…

There is a buzz around this show like no other. Everyone seems to be aware of it and wants to attend. I hope you’ll make the trek and visit. I’ll be part of the HorrorFest show on the first floor with another good author friend of mine, James Alan Ross.

Check out his books below.

Forevergreen

The first day of seventh-grade brings news that sends fear through the entire student body: the new girl is missing. The once-innocent halls now harbor echoes of broken relationships, secret romances, invasive police officers, and the question asked with glances and whispers:

What happened to Sissy Daniels?

The trees behind Lakewood Pines Middle School hold deep, dark secrets…

The Haunting of Dylan Klaypool Book One – Whispers in Black Willow

To hear the truth, she must listen to the silence.

Dylan Klaypool’s dark history has her searching for answers that can only be found down a single path: paranormal investigation. Battling demons from her past, the high school junior’s obsession with proving the existence of ghosts has become the only consistent aspect of her troubled life.

Now living with her estranged grandmother in a new town and attending a new school, Dylan’s focus has not wavered. And the boarded up, abandoned house she discovered on Cemetery Road might hold the key that can unlock the secrets that have long haunted her.

Book Two arrives this October!

Both are only $0.99 right now on Amazon for the ebook.  Learn more about the books and the author!

Flower City Comic Con is this weekend!

April 9, 2019 By Lou

If you’re in the Rochester area you have to stop by the Blue Cross Arena this weekend for the Flower City Comic Con!

April 13th and 14th!

Two days of incredible deals, celebrity guests, panels and cosplay, this show has it all. I’m so excited to be a part of the guest list. It looks to be a fantastic lineup of talent.

Greystone Deal

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it here on the blog but for shows like this I offer a huge discount on my paperbacks. Typically, a Greystone novel costs $13.99 online. Plus tax. Plus shipping in some cases. I hate having to charge that. Hate it.

That’s why I love these conventions.

This weekend, you can get any Greystone novel for $10. No tax. No shipping. And a sweet autograph from yours truly.

That’s not even the end of it. The deals get sweeter the more books you buy and all come with a genuine scribble from the author and his eternal gratitude.

2 Books = $18
3 Books = $25
4 Books = $30
And all 5 Greystone novels are only $35!

Why I do it…

It’s not for the money. Much as I would love to live off this amazing gig of mine, the discounts are there to promote Greystone to a local audience. To spread the word about my writing and hopefully earn a few devoted fans along the way.

I might not bring home enough to pay off that last college loan but if I am able to connect with a few special readers at each occasion, if I can inspire someone to dig into the world of Soriya and Loren just a little, I know I’ve done my job.

Beyond that, the joy is in being able to talk to people. To hear what they’ve been reading and what drew them to the table. Anytime I am able to break away from the cave and step into the light is a good one. A good exercise for promoting the series and for showing readers how enthused I am to keep living with these characters and the stories coming up for them.

See you in Rochester!

I do hope you’ll make the trip. I’ve spoken with a number of the guests already and they are so pumped to meet you, to share their stories with you. Pick their brain, ask them about their pets or their kids. These are regular folk doing everything they can to give you the best convention experience they can.

Enjoy it and I’ll see you there!

A Call for Reviews – 2019 Edition

March 5, 2019 By Lou

There are certain things are difficult for me, tasks with which I struggle. Acquiring reviews for Greystone appears to be one of them!

I love my books. Yes, there was an enormous pain in producing them as all writers would attest, but they are my creative darlings and I am the better because of them. If I could, I would talk Greystone all day. From the setting to the characters, every nuance, every stray thought that’s been put into why certain things occur in the books and where we are heading with the second half.

I could talk for hours and if you know me that is a feat and a half.

But this isn’t about me. I can’t leave a review, much as I would love to, on my books. I need your help to make it happen.

Now last year I set some goals with reviews. I failed miserably.

My hope is this year will go better. Truly, I hope you are enjoying the story and want to share that with others. If you have read any of the novels, any of the box sets, please consider leaving a review today.

I am including a master link for each book. From there you will be able to click on any retailer of your choice to leave a review. I hope you will. They are crucial to building up the Greystone’s rep, as it were, and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you.
