Errant Knight Cover Reveal

May 19, 2025 By Lou

Alpha and Omega is almost here! Greystone returns to the forefront in two weeks with more murder and mayhem than you can handle. It’s the start of an epic that continues this October with Book Seven: Errant Knight! Fans of Arthurian legends and the knights of old will love this one. (I know I did writing it.) Check out the cover reveal and book details below:

Errant Knight cover reveal

Getcovers did an incredible job, as always. They captured exactly what I was looking for with the cover. I can’t wait for you to read this one.

But what’s Errant Knight about, exactly?

Book Details

A knight’s destiny spells the end for Portents.

In the final days of Camelot, Merlin foresaw a great darkness rising. He dispatched five knights to combat this evil—and safeguard the world from its insidious threat. The knights built a fail-safe device, should all hope fade, and awaited the day it became necessary.

The clock starts ticking when a prominent philanthropist is found murdered. Detective Samantha Myers, with the aid of a centuries-old siren Thel, is pulled into the case. Stymied by the secrets uncovered, Myers turns to the only man capable of solving the mystery: Greg Loren.

In the absence of Soriya Greystone, Loren has taken up the role of protector in Portents. He feels inadequate to handle the burden though, especially when he learns his new partner, Gabe, is spiraling at school and with his foster family.

The case proves the perfect distraction as Loren confronts the deadly guardians of the knights. As each key falls into the hands of the murderous Squire, Merlin’s prophecy is on the verge of becoming a reality.

Can Loren protect the last knight and the key he bears or will Portents fall in the wake of his failure?

The restoration of Portents may be over before it has even begun in this epic installment to the Greystone Saga.

The end is coming.

Errant Knight is the next step on the road to the ultimate finale for Greystone. There are major developments in this book that set up the startling revelations to come.

Pre-order links will be up soon.

Errant Knight will be out on October 15th!

Cover Reveal for The Final Gauntlet

June 9, 2020 By Lou

Greystone-in-Training comes to a close this October with the release of Book Three – The Final Gauntlet. This story acts as a bridge, bringing Soriya’s training years to an end while at the same time circling readers back to the Greystone series which will be back with Book Six – Alpha and Omega. (Hoping to share some info on this one later this month.)

The Final Gauntlet Cover Reveal

I’ve been living in Portents lately. My head is firmly locked on where the series needs to go and why each moment should be important in the lives of the cast.

Soriya has a lot to face in this adventure. There is witchcraft, there is the secret doorkeeper who you will see more of in The Gifts of Kali, and there is a closing out of so many characters from the trilogy.

Soriya isn’t the only one graduating to the next level. The Final Gauntlet ties up loose ends and finishes off the arcs started in Hammer and Anvil.

There will be plenty more info coming your way, but for now enjoy the back cover description:

The Daughters of Salem have returned.

A doorway was opened and a threat from the earliest days of Portents has found its way home. The Daughters have a clear mission: to use the power of the doorkeeper and awaken a terrible darkness on the world.

Soriya stands alone to face the threat. To do so, she must protect the magic-wielding doorkeeper—a woman in a desperate search to find her past.

There is more at stake for Soriya, though, as Mentor levels one final test upon her. Should she pass, Soriya will at last earn the mantle of the Greystone.

If she fails, however, all of Portents may succumb to the darkness within their souls.

The Final Gauntlet comes out October 13th.

DSA Cover Reveals

September 10, 2019 By Lou

It’s a crazy week at the writing desk. I’m finishing up on The Clearing and getting it ready for publication. Hammer and Anvil is going through one more round of edits before the final readthrough. The October releases are coming together nicely.

Are you ready for what comes next?

Cover Reveal Time!

Promethean

What is the Promethean Project?

On the hunt for a lead from the Bellbrook affair, Ben Riley and Morgan Dunleavy discover a dead body and a growing conspiracy. The only clue left behind? A handprint burned into the bone of the victim.

Not everything is what it seems as Connor Hendricks, their FBI liaison, connects this latest death with a series of lab-related arsons.

Caught in a web of lies and illicit drug trials, Ben and Morgan must learn to trust each other or be the next victims of an elusive pyrokinetic.

But is he the killer or merely another victim caught up in a larger game?

DSA Season One, Book Two arrives November 13th but you can pre-order your copy today!

The Bridge

A sniper’s bullet changed Lincoln MacKenzie’s life forever.

Lincoln has been tasked with a mission: to hunt down the Witness—the enigmatic man behind the tragedy in Bellbrook.

Present and past entwine as Lincoln is forced to make a choice between ending the life of the Witness or saving him from a far more dangerous threat.

Will Lincoln’s desire for revenge outweigh his need for the truth?

Meanwhile, Ben Riley is caught in the middle of a political game as his assessment begins before the Inter-Agency Council. But is the purpose behind his questioning only the opening gambit of a larger plot against not only the Director of the DSA, but the agency itself?

The DSA starts to crumble with this crucial chapter of the series.

DSA Season One, Book Three hits shelves on December 11th. You can pre-order your digital copy now!

Praise for MiblArt

I can’t say enough good things about MiblArt. They came in and helped me out of a real jam in putting these covers together. I absolutely love the look of the series and can’t wait to see them in paperback.

The Clearing Cover Reveal!

June 25, 2019 By Lou

This one has been a long time coming.

The Clearing Cover Reveal!

I am very excited to share this one with you. When I started putting together the DSA back in 2015, I drew little sketches for each cover. Crude stick figure people with a million little notes of what should actually be there even if my artistic skills weren’t up to the task.

Case in point:

Not a bad first step, right? I mean, look at those amazing tree trunks.

(Yeah. I can’t draw. At all…)

Baby steps

In 2016 I took it a step further. I thought I could design the covers using template images and concepts. Seemed simple enough. HA. There is an art behind font selection and a dozen other areas on the cover. Skills I still have yet to learn though I think I’m getting better as time goes on.

Suffice it to say, the cover never materialized the way I was hoping…

cover reveal

It’s not terrible. It definitely had potential but I knew the cover could pop more, that it could be more professional in its presentation.

Improving on the theme

Trial and error was important for me here. Learning what was important for this story was a crucial part in understanding the story I wanted to tell. Putting years into the process might not have been the plan, but it became a vital component to truly understanding the world of the DSA.

Learning the production process was part of this as well. Reaching out and connecting with a talented designer was crucial to the success of the book. And it shows in the final cover for The Clearing.

cover reveal

Nat, over at Marraii Design, did an amazing job capturing the tone and the scene I had in mind for the cover for the first book of DSA.

You’ll have to wait until October to find out what is happening here but it’s the start of something huge. Can’t wait for you to read the first season of what I hope will be your new favorite series.

Plenty more covers heading your way this year and I’ll be talking about specific release dates very soon. Like I said, this project has been fomenting for a long time and it is crazy exciting to finally see it coming together, piece by piece.

Thanks for reading.

Hammer and Anvil Cover Reveal

May 21, 2019 By Lou

Just a short missive today. It was a whirlwind weekend at the Nickel City Con and I’m in recovery mode. What a great show. If you made it and picked up a book, you have my thanks. I hope you enjoyed the experience and that your first dip into the Greystone world is a good one.

What comes next is going to be even better!

Hammer and Anvil Cover Reveal

This was never meant to be. When I originally conceived the training period pieces describing Soriya’s formative years they were always smaller in my mind. Short stories akin to those found in Tales from Portents or Pathways in the Dark – 8 chapters, in and out, with a brief nod to the larger story at play.

They would come out one per year and only for newsletter subscribers. Easy peasy.

Then I started outlining. The story grew. The pieces became more intricate and the narrative took over.

I couldn’t be happier with how it is coming together and wanted to share the cover design as soon as I received it!

A special thanks to Marraii Design for the phenomenal job at putting this together. Nat is a true artist and takes such care to hit all the right beats with her covers.

Release Info

I’m still nailing down a specific date but you can expect Hammer and Anvil to come out in early October of this year! It’s going to be a crazy month but I am so freaking excited.

Let me know what you think of the cover at lou@loupaduano.com. I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading!
